  • The church of Santo Domingo, for your part, was forming a part of the convent of Saint Lucia of the Preachers' Order, placed between the current road of Saragossa and the square of Santo Domingo. This convent was founded in 1383 by the infante D. Juan, first-born of the king Pedro Ceremonious, and little later his construction began. Nevertheless, at the end of the 16th century there was carried out an extension of this church that supposed a substantial transformation on there having be constructed the major chapel, the lateral chapels, the cover and a new front page. The major chapel was agreed in 1578, though the works extended in enough time since still in 1616 the construction of the vaults was agreed of crucería starred. The convent suffered serious destructions at the beginning of the 19th century, in the war of Independence. Later one saw affected by the Disentailment of 1836 and happened to be a property of the Town hall, who installed in him a polvorín in substitution of the one that it exploited in 1840. Recently his church has been yielded on the part of the Archbishopric of Saragossa to Alcañiz's Town hall and works of consolidation have begun those that this interesting building tries to recover.

Of the former convent only his church closed to the worship remains at present and in a lamentable condition. It is a work of masonry and hewn stone, with the only ship covered with vault of crucería starred, while the lateral chapels do it with tunnel vaults decorated with motives of Mudejar design and manierista. His head-board is polygonal and the zone of the presbytery is sobreelevada. Great interest has his front page-altarpiece, received everything she for a great round arch.

The access is flanked by two couples of Corinthian columns, on which an entablamento and a curved fronton rests party decorated with a great garland. A language uses cinquecentista that turns her into one of the scanty Renaissance front pages of the Low Aragon. Lamentably, it has lost all his images of bundle and part of his decorative elements.

At present the Church of Saint Lucia has turned into Atrivm, space of history of the rich past of Alcañiz and of his Region.
