Of the current hermitage the most ancient part corresponds to the ship, work of the 17th century. It is divided in five sections by means of arches perpiaños reduced and covers with tunnel vault with lunetos, decorated with esgrafiados polychrome. In the 19th century, Tomás Llovet, artist alcañizano of great prestige in the whole Aragon, carried out an important reform in the zone of the head-board of the hermitage, giving him his current aspect. The major chapel is of square plant and covers with dome, in whose scallops four Evangelists are represented. In the lateral walls there develop two bas-reliefs placed in semicircles, in which there is narrated the finding of the Holy Image. To the bottom of this chapel one arranges the dressing-room of the Virgin. The major chapel is preceded by a great cruise covered with dome, which scallops are decorated by angels. The urban development environment of the sanctuary is interesting: his great ramp of access (The aventador) and the wide esplanade that him precedes.
