    This century is considered to be the Golden Century for Alcañiz. The great number of noble mansions built in this period constitue a good illustration of this golden age.

    Most of these buildings are found in the district “Los Almudines” and in the street “Santa Pau”. Currently, the Ardid Palace has been completely restored and today the library and the Municipal archives are located there.
